Living in South Carolina, we do not experience winters as seen in this painting.  You might ask why I painted this scene.  Well, experiencing cold weather in the south and being at the end of January, my mind brought be back to a time living in Connecticut and how beautiful the first fallen snow was.  I can still remember the peace it brought as I looked out of the window and watched the delicate flakes hit the ground.  This thought inspired me to paint this scene.
